Mr. McIvers began his dispute resolution career in 1985 as a Settlement Judge Pro Tempore in the Santa Barbara Superior Court. While continuing to accept court assignments as a Mediator, Special Master/Referee and Settlement Judge Pro Tem, he also handles private mediation assignments statewide. Mr. McIvers excels at mediating complex, multi-party cases, and those cases which have failed to settle at prior hearings. He has received extensive training in mediation and negotiation, including completion of "Advanced Mediation" training through the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law. He is known for his high settlement rate, for being easy to work with, and for his dedication to pursuing settlement even after the session is over. Mr.McIvers also serves as an Arbitrator on a broad range of civil matters, including multi-party construction and serious personal injury cases.
