Hon. Elwood Rich, Ret.
| Since Judge Rich’s retirement in 1980, he has been serving in the private sector as a Mediator, Arbitrator and Private Judge. He also remains active as a Settlement Officer for the Riverside Superior Court, where he has resolved thousands of disputes. As an Arbitrator, our clients say Judge Rich is a no-nonsense guy who is pleasant, well liked and gives reasonable and objective awards. He has a formal, but “cut to the chase,” hearing style, is interactive in questioning witnesses, and has a remarkable perception of small, often-missed details. As a Mediator, he is a legendary Settlement Officer in Riverside County and continues to have an enviable settlement rate in the private sector. Judge Rich knows how to guide and persuade parties to reach a resolution and he assiduously devotes himself to bringing them together. Says one client, “Judge Rich may keep you a little off balance or curious during negotiations–and can be somewhat funny and entertaining–but he gets results that make sense to all!” |
