We like to periodically shine a spotlight on organizations that are doing good work in the community. This time, we celebrate the Latina Lawyers Bar Association. We caught up with LLBA’s current president, Cinthia Flores, and asked her to share a little about the group and opportunities to get involved.

“The Latina Lawyers Bar Association is the only bar association in the country with the mission to support Latinas at every stage of their legal career. LLBA meets its mission by awarding scholarships, facilitating mentorship, and building community. As a former scholarship recipient, I have experienced LLBA's impact on the next generation of lawyers.

LLBA's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is rooted in the belief that each industry should reflect the community that it serves. LLBA is dedicated to increasing the percentage of Latina lawyers in the legal profession. This year, in collaboration with Blueprint Test Prep, we launched an LSAT Prep Scholarship - which will provide aspiring law students with free access to an LSAT prep course.

We're also very excited about our two upcoming signature events, Celebrating Latinas and our 26th Annual Scholarship and Awards Dinner.

Celebrating Latinas will take place on Friday, August 25th at the Tom Bradley Room in Downtown Los Angeles. It is an event that the LLBA hosts bi-annually to recognize a trailblazing Latina in the legal profession. This year, we will be honoring LA City Attorney Hydee Feldstein-Soto, the first woman and Latina to hold the office. You can register for the event here.

We are hosting our 26th Annual Scholarship and Awards Dinner on Friday, October 27th at the Omni Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. The LLBA hosts this special evening every year to celebrate our scholarship recipients and honorees.

We are grateful for the support of organizations like Judicate West, that share the same values as our organization.”
