David became a full-time neutral in 2021 to follow his passion for helping litigants realize the benefits of comprise and resolution and focus on his growing mediation practice. He began his legal career at a large regional law firm in Southern California, initially focusing on corporate representation. David transitioned to advocating for individuals in Employment, Civil Rights, and Personal Injury Matters, and in 2010, he and his wife, Raven, opened their law practice, focusing on representing employees who experienced discrimination, harassment, and retaliation in the workplace. He also represented individuals and advised businesses in Employment, Personal Injury, Real Estate, and General Business Law matters.

As a litigator, David tenaciously advocated on behalf of his clients, taking pride in helping them let go of the past and their disputes. He witnessed the profound relief experienced by many clients after resolving their cases. He now leverages his background as a litigator and small business owner and is committed to helping all parties realize the benefits of coming together to find an amicable resolution.

According to David, “Sometimes it takes the point of view of someone now intimately involved to help everyone overcome a hurdle or break an impasse. Other times it takes out-of-the-box thinking to find a way around a deadlock everyone thought could never be broken or circumvented. That is where I come in. My sole goal is to help people find a way to come together and reach common ground they otherwise could not reach.”

We had a big Wage and Hour case under tough circumstances. Another firm filed on top of us with our exact claims and a few extra. The risk for reverse auction was high. David mediated not just with us and the defendant, but also with the third party. In the end, the third party was excluded, and David negotiated a seven-figure settlement between our client and the defendant. His work speaks for itself.
- Employment Attorney
David is everything you want in a mediator. He is smart, knowledgeable, experienced, and evaluates risk well, but he’s also absolutely Max Effort, which sets him apart. He gets it done. And if he doesn’t settle the case at mediation, he never quits. He doesn’t just do one e-mail, text, or phone follow-up. He follows up in an organic but effective way. He’s calling and finding out more information. He’s adding value. And it’s persistent even if the parties “believe” they’re doing the negotiating. If you want max effort during and beyond mediation, then David is your guy. He gets it.
- Founding Attorney of an Employment Firm
Mr. Sarnoff is great at what he does. Not only is he well-versed in all aspects of employment laws, whether it be nuances of wage-and-hour laws or FEHA-specific claims, he is equally passionate about finding creative ways to broker a deal. He will not relent. Even if the parties are far apart on the day of mediation, he works endlessly to find a way to close a deal. His willingness to follow up and commit the time needed to get the parties there is second to none.
